THE BORDER & CUSTOMS
Don’t have a logistics department? No experience
working with US Customs? Tshirtguys experience and
procedures make it easy.
Tshirtguys takes possession of the t-shirts, price
tickets, boxes and all other raw material from a
warehouse located in San Diego. The shipments south
bound are consolidated. To cross the border going into
Mexico we create a detailed import invoice. Tshirtguys
creates the import invoice from the packing lists that
are sent with the shipment to the warehouse in San
Diego.
Packing list should have the following information
listed on them:
- Fabric Content
- Country of origin per line item
- Piece count
- Box count
- Weight
In order to be efficient and keep transportation cost
low our clients and vendors are advised to send goods
palletized on pallets that are compliant with the
U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).
When the shirts are done they are shipped back to the
US. The importer of record is Tshirtguys.com which means
that the responsibility of the importation falls on
Tshirtguys. There are generally are no custom duties or
additional taxes due for moving the shirts in and out of
Mexico. The client can have the shipment delivered
directly to their location in the San Diego area or it
can be distributed from our Customs Brokers warehouse.
If the business is repetitive and the client is going to
ship out of our customs broker’s warehouse the client
can set up an account with the custom broker. The client
is responsible for warehouse fees.
To summarize, Tshirtguys takes possession of the raw
materials in San Diego at our broker’s warehouse. When
the shirts are done the client takes delivery either at
a designated drop off location in San Diego or at our
customs broker’s warehouse in San Diego. |
